A Day at The Beach!

On Saturday, we spent the afternoon at Hershey Lake - only about 15 minutes from our home. We took Jonas swimming for the first time, and he seemed to enjoy himself. Here are a few pictures.

This is the funniest thing I have ever read

I had to read this article by Bill Simmons of espn.com in incriments to avoid causing internal damage to myself from laughing so hard. It has to do with the recent NHL draft. He pokes fun at Canadians in good fun, I trust.

    Mould Problems in Fort Albany

Fort Albany made front page news for all the wrong reasons last week. It turns out there is a serious mould problem in a number of houses in the community, many of which are under 10 years old. It made me think of a student of mine, a very bright and engaging woman. The house she and her three daughters were living in was infested with mold. It was clearly having a negative impact on her health.

Scott Paradis of the Daily Press has done some excellent reporting on the story.

    Carnival Time

What a fun day! It was Christine’s birthday, so we had to celebrate. We went to check out the carnival at the Timmins Square. We saw a lot of people we know from Fort Albany. Not surprising because Timmins is known as Albany south.

I took Jonas for his first ride on the horses. We later went to the Fish Bowl for dinner. Jonas is sound asleep now on the rec room floor. He is pooped from a day excitement. Here are some pictures.
